The booze, by the way, is not Hammett’s. Bill Arney, Don Herron, Mike Humbert and I drank that before going to see “Dark Passage” at the Castro Theater (Bill is “The Voice of Noir” for the Noir City series, Mike is a fellow photographer/historian who shares my passion for the City, and Don has been giving tours of Hammett’s San Francisco for the past thirty years).
