i (the previous poster) feel a bit sheepish about saying that and never meant to be thoughtless. as we all know, enrichment doesn’t always (in fact does very rarely) have anything to do with money and growing up in the tenderloin is something many could envy.

trying to find a trace on the net of your fire only reminded me that such occurrences are all too common; i remember witnessing two serious fires in the three years we lived in the ‘loin. If you’re still lucky enough to live in SF you should try the public library which certainly will have the Chronicle and the Examiner archived for that period.
