The vivacious and multi-talented Julie Michelle recently interviewed me for the excellent photo website Caliber. If you’re interested in photography and San Francisco, Caliber should be on your list of regularly visited websites.

    Hi Mark,
I’m a theater director who is working with Cutting Ball Theater (at the Exit on Taylor) this year to create a documentary theater piece about the Tenderloin. The actors will be interviewing a variety of people living and working in the Tenderloin, gathering stories, then portraying their interview subjects. I have been looking at your material and would love to meet with you to talk to you more about the project. Your love and knowledge of the neighborhood really comes through in your blog!
    Best wishes,
    Annie Elias

    • Thank you, Annie. I would be delighted to meet with you sometime. I’ll send you an email with my contact information and we can take things from there.
Thanks again for your interest in my work.

      Mark

    Mark,

I recently came across your wonderful website and photography. I am a graduate student conducting research on the everyday joys, realities and conundrums of living and aging in San Francisco.

I would love to find time to meet up (over coffee or tea perhaps) and hear more about your work as well as get your take on life in SF and “growing older” (if that’s even a phrase you identify with).

Feel free to give me a call if you’d like to chat further.

    Wishing you all the best,
    Jason
